Sponsored review: Endless Nutricosmetics' Collagen Juice

September 16, 2013
Now that I'm in my mid-twenties, I've become even more particular about taking care of my skin to avoid it from aging faster than I do. But aside from the moisturizers, serums, and whatnot out there that promise to help turn back the clock on your skin and which deal with the surface layer, there are 'beauty drinks' that work from the inside out instead. Beauty drinks of all kinds are becoming increasingly popular and have already been so around Asia for some time already, particularly in countries like Japan and Korea. In the West, it's picking up on the popularity scale also - slowly but surely, but focus is still more on beauty products are are applied instead of ingested. These drinks come in a wide variety, coming in either powder or liquid form, and can help with everything to do with skin, from everyday maintenance to keep it looking healthy, to whitening and anti-aging. Anti-aging drinks are both the most marketed and in demand though, and they almost always incorporate and promote one particular ingredient: collagen.

I know, a lot of you are probably already very familiar with the word, but what is collagen exactly and why is it so important when it comes to aging? In a nutshell, "Collagen is necessary for conserving the youthfulness of skin and attenuating wrinkles, it is also essential for the elasticity of the connective tissue of the skin, allowing it to expand and contract without damaging any tissue. When we get older, the production of collagen begins to slow down and cell structures start losing their strength. As a result, skin starts to become fragile, less elastic and wrinkles start to set in." (1) Now do you see why so many women try to cram as much collagen back into their system as possible? I read that we lose 1% of collagen per year after the age of 29, but I also found out it starts diminishing in our 20s so either way, just because you're not getting any wrinkles yet, doesn't mean you shouldn't get started. Remember, prevention is always better than cure!

I've always been curious about trying out a beauty drink for myself, so thankfully I was sent two boxes by Endless Nutricosmetics to try out their Endless Collagen Juice! They actually sent these to me months ago so this review is definitely overdue already.

Wow, so many great claims made me even more excited to try it out, especially the part about it helping to burn fat and increase my metabolism. Goodness knows I need to start getting fit again! I also love the bright pink boxes they come in. If I'm not mistaken, this Collagen Juice only comes in one flavor variant which is peach.

This is how the bottles are packed inside. There are six bottles per box, the other four are located under the side flaps.

All the nutritional facts you need to know are labeled on the side. As is written, you're only supposed to drink one bottle a day and they suggest to keep it chilled. I find it kind of funny that it's more of a suggestion in the directions, but when it comes to storage they say it must be refrigerated.

Anyway, please also take note of the precautions too just in case if you're planning to drink this or recommend it to someone!

You get 50ml of juice per bottle that contains 5,000mg of hydrolyzed collagen. The bottle is tinted to prevent the juice from spoiling in case it comes into any direct contact with light, in the same way that Argan oil is packaged, since there are no preservatives in this.

The bottles themselves are sturdy and quite small so finding space for them in your fridge shouldn't be a problem. I just lined them all up on one of the side shelves.

Manufacturing and expiration dates are printed on the caps which are sealed securely.

The label of the bottle displays the same nutritional facts and yes, this is made in Taiwan even if the collagen comes from France. I know some people are iffy about using products made in China and since Taiwan is technically part of China, I just felt this needed to be mentioned.

The taste of the juice itself isn't so bad. It definitely tastes like peach, but a very tangy and yet almost bitter kind of peach. I found it very tolerable either way and since it's such a small amount you have to consume, even if you don't like the taste so much, drinking it won't take long at all. I can finish the bottle in 1-2 sips.

Having received twelve bottles in total, and drinking one bottle a day, I got to try this Endless Collagen Juice for nearly two weeks. After a few days, I could already feel that my skin became a lot more supple, and this was easily the most visible effect of drinking it. In general, my skin also felt and looked healthier overall. I also didn't look as fatigued as I sometimes do, haha. I don't have any joint problems and the like, and still no wrinkles or lines (I don't think the ones under my eyes count), so I can't report what the juice can do for those. As for metabolism and helping to burn fat, I don't think it really did anything for me when it came to that, or if it did, I noticed no differences. Then again, I've been too busy to exercise regularly these days and I don't have the healthiest of diets at the same time, so I can't claim that juice was ineffective in that aspect. Maybe for those with an already good metabolism and/or make an effort to keep fit can report otherwise!

However, I guess the only downside of sorts is that all the effects that come from this product are based on it being taken habitually. Once you stop drinking, the effects ultimately go with it. After finishing the last bottle, my skin did still remain a little supple, but of course not as much as when I was still drinking it on a daily basis. It's not the cheapest habit to keep either. Paying over PHP800 for almost a week's supply is quite steep after all. But in the end, if you love the effects of any beauty product really, why not?

All in all though, I really like this product and was glad I got the chance to try it out. I was genuinely disappointed once I ran out! For those of you like me who are keen to keep aging at bay and want better and healthier looking skin, then I definitely recommend trying this out for yourself.

Special thank you again to Endless Collagen! Check them out on the following platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram as well as their official website.

WHAT I LIKE:
  • My skin became more supple as well as looked and felt healthier overall.
  • FDA approved!
    • Note: Don't risk any serious health consequences by just trying any beauty drink out there. Some companies who only want to make a profit can use harmful chemicals in their products so exercise good judgement. Buy only those that are FDA approved and/or are from reputable brands.
  • The bottles are small and easy to stow away in your fridge.
  • No specific waiting time needed before or after meals when drinking this unlike with some 'specialized drinks'.
  • Locally available.
WHAT I DON'T LIKE:
  • The effects are habit dependent so you have to drink this regularly to retain them.
  • A little pricey, especially for something that has to be taken everyday and should probably be re-purchased every 1-2 weeks.
  • I think only the bigger Mercury Drug stores carry this, so it may be difficult to find a selected store that's conveniently located for you that has it.

Price: PHP870 per box (of six bottles) | Can be purchased from: Most Mercury Drug stores nationwide
