Benefit Cosmetics Instant Comeback Facial Serum*

December 28, 2015
An increasingly 'must have' product in many women's skin care regime is a serum. For those who aren't too familiar, serums are basically potent little potions that address specific skin care needs. There are serums for those who frequently suffer from acne or redness. There are serums that promise to shrink or minimize the appearance of dark spots and pores, and there are serums that are supposed to whiten skin overall. If there's a skin care concern, there's most likely a serum for it. Compared to your average moisturizing cream or gel (which you apply after, by the way), serums tend to have more concentrated ingredients.

Now that I'm nearly 30, I prefer serums that have anti-aging claims. These tend to work best for me as I have dry skin and most anti-aging products are highly moisturizing since young looking skin is all about the abundance of hydration in it. One of my favorite beauty brands, Benefit Cosmetics, knows that very well as their skin care line is all about moisturizing and refining skin. One of the stars of this particular line is their Instant Comeback Facial Serum which I'm reviewing today.

Benefit says...
Hey tired, dehydrated skin…this is your chance to start over!

Instant Comeback Age-Defying Booster Serum instantly boosts the youthful look of skin. The fast absorbing formula with tri-radiance complex helps protect against visible signs of aging. Tired skin looks plumped and hydrated and feels firmer, smoother…energized. Dramatically boosts the effectiveness of any skincare routine.

Review: Dr. Organic Dead Sea Mineral Hydrating Radiance Serum

January 14, 2014
No matter your skin type, nothing is as important as prepping your skin properly in order for your makeup to not only apply smoothly and evenly, but keep it looking great throughout the day. Even if you won’t be wearing any makeup, it’s still important to follow your everyday skin care routine as normal. That’s the secret to keeping your skin looking the best it can be after all!

The ultimate key to prepping my own skin is by making sure its hydrated. If it isn’t, my makeup doesn’t apply as well and any my dry patches, especially where I currently have any zits, are horribly emphasized. That’s why I strictly double-moisturize every morning with both a day cream and a serum. Since I’ve only quite recently started using serums for day use, I decided to pick up this Dr. Organic Dead Sea Mineral Hydrating Radiance Serum while I was in Guam back in November.

The entire Dr. Organic line has products that belong to a specific range for specific skin needs or skin problems (check them all out here), such as organic royal jelly for ‘promoting skin regeneration’, manuka honey for ‘moisturising and repairing’, and lavender for ‘calming and soothing the skin’. The dead sea mineral range, where the serum is from, is for ‘creating a spa experience which leaves the skin feeling, smooth, relaxed, and hydrated.’

For me, smooth, relaxed, and hydrated is exactly what my skin needs to be when I’m starting and getting ready for my day!

Review: Snoe Spot On Spot Off Daily Maintenance Acne Fading Gel

July 23, 2013
Whenever I look into the mirror prior to applying my makeup for the day, I can't help but always feel a little frustrated because of my skin. Aside from crater-size pores and unsightly blackheads, I see zits of various sizes. Mostly small with a few medium ones here and there and concentrated along my jawline. Despite having a strict and religious skin care routine, I can't stop them from appearing and can't get rid of all of them entirely either.

Don't get me wrong, I have seen many cases which are much, much worse and when I reflect on them I quickly become thankful that my skin problems are mild in comparison. One of these days though I will go see my dermatologist and hope something can be done so I can get my skin looking as clear and healthy as possible.

Deciding to add yet another product to my skin care routine, I bought Spot On Spot Off Daily Maintenance Acne Fading Gel from Snoe. When I first got this, it was during a time that my skin was breaking out more frequently so I hoped this could help.

This is from their Shoo-Zit line which has a whole variety of products for treating and preventing acne. I actually have my eye on a few other things from the line too, particularly their Dip & Dry Acne Drying Lotion.

The product comes in a plastic bottle that holds 50ml which actually is quite a lot for an acne treatment since they usually come in much smaller bottles or tubes. I'm really loving the almost vintage theme and color scheme going on with the design.

Review: Trouble Calming & Brightening Ampoule (Baviphat)

May 07, 2013
Recently my skin has been rebelling and breaking out. It's mostly been happening along my jawline too, which I found out after some research was due to hormonal imbalance. Now if it was a diet related problem, I could easily try to eat a wee bit healthier to counteract what's happening with my skin. But hormones? What am I supposed to do about that?

I already have a medicated acne cream I've been using for years that's highly effective for me. It can get rid of small to medium zits practically overnight. But it's really drying on the skin (to help dry out the zits, I guess) so I can't use it in the day when I'm going to be headed out because it'll cause my makeup to look flaky and patchy on those areas. So I decided to purchase something additional I can use any time to help me combat my acne's redness and overall appearance.

I was browsing around Baviphat in Glorietta 3 mall the other week and happened about telling the SA about my breakout woes and she instantly recommended me their Trouble Calming & Brightening Ampoule. I'm a big lover of Baviphat's products, so it wasn't that hard for me to decide to get it!
