Human Nature 100% Natural Lip Balms

August 22, 2014
Don’t you just hate when you want to sport one of your favorite lipsticks only to find out that your lips are too dry? I have many days like that. No matter what I do, even if I exfoliate the living daylights out of my lips and slather it with twenty layers of lip balm, they’re still just too dry and cracked for lipstick. I end up having to reach for a lipgloss, lip tint, or just brave the day with bare lips. This is why I’m never without lip balm at home or in my bag. When I don’t have anything on my lips, I need to make sure they’re moisturized at all times, especially just in case I need to quickly doll up and lipstick is absolutely necessary. Before I go to bed, I always apply a generous coating of lip balm too. Tinted balms are my favorite because at least I can get away with some color on my lips at the same time.

I don’t discriminate when it comes to lip balms. I’ll try virtually any kind, though I do prefer the ones that don’t have a strange ‘taste’ to them. You know what I’m talking about. Usually those ones I find are balms that claim to be organic or all-natural. But when my cousin kindly gifted my sister and I with these Human Nature 100% Natural Lip Balms (Php79.75 each) I decided to give all-natural lip balms a chance again.

Cutieverse

December 17, 2013
A couple of months ago I was kindly sent a little goodie bag from cutieverse.com as they wanted me to try out some of their products, so simply put, here's a very much delayed review on all of them!

I love the little pouch they gave that has all the products inside. If you're not familiar with cutieverse, "Hurraw!" is the name of their line of of popular lip balms which is why it has it on the pouch. The pouch itself is really good quality actually and I sometimes use it to store my makeup and whatnot when I'm using a smaller bag for the day.

All of cutieverse's skin care products are made with all-natural, organic ingredients, with some of them listed as completely vegan, so if you're particular about and love safe, organic products to pamper or treat your skin with then check behind the cut to see what I got!

Review: Cupcake All Over Color (PK001, OR202) + Candy Stick (Berry, Orange) (Etude House)

May 11, 2013
With Etude House having already released its newest makeup collection, "Dear Girls", I decided to finally put this post up featuring some of the products from their Sweet Recipe collection. These are actually birthday presents from my bff so thank you, dear! I also have one more Sweet Recipe item which I'll review in the next post.

I was a bit late in seeing these items for real since the small Etude House stall in SM Makati only recently started selling from specific collections or lines. Before, I always had to go to an actual EH store in Megamall which is farther away. I still have to since the SA told me that they won't always get every item for each collection, but at least I won't need to make the trip as much anymore!

Phew, is it just me or does EH release collections way too fast these days? I feel like they need to slow down to give us a chance to try everything without resorting to hoarding...

My March SaladBox

April 09, 2013
Time for another SaladBox post! Though it's already April, I only received my SaladBox for March yesterday. I actually paid for a February box but I was informed that they were sold out already so they said I'd get the next box, which was for March. But for some reason, I never received it during the month of March. I actually e-mailed them twice asking about it until it finally arrived. So yes, there was a two month delay after I paid! This is an added reason for why I've started considering subscribing to the seemingly more popular BDJ Box or Glamourbox instead. Both tend to carry brands I'm much more interested in anyway, but the BDJ Box in particular gets sold out fast. In fact, the May boxes are already gone! Hm, I guess I'll decide soon which one I'd rather go for.

Anyway, here's the SaladBox un-boxing for March! From the initial opening of it, I'm already more impressed compared to the last box I received back in October of last year.

Review: Beeswax Lip Balm (Burt's Bees)

November 26, 2012
As someone who suffers with lips prone to extreme dryness even in a hot and humid country, to the point that I get 'patches' of dry skin on them, I always need to keep them moisturized. I apply lip balm before applying any other lip product and I use lip balm again just before going to bed. I also make sure to use a lip scrub every few days to exfoliate them!

As you'd expect, I'm quite addicted to lip balms of any sort. I actually tend to steer away from lipstick because I find that a lot make my already dry lips appear even drier, especially if I don't prep them well before application, so I tend to stick with long-lasting stains and glosses. I only really whip out my lipsticks for more formal events! Recently I've been looking for just a regular, no frills, good quality lip balm and decided to try out Beeswax Lip Balm from Burt's Bees!

This is actually my first Burt's Bees purchase, but I've been hearing so many good things about the brand for years now, and they're also known for their earth-friendly and natural products. From their website, they state that their products are "carefully crafted using ingredients that are the best nature has to offer: beeswax, botanical and essential oils, herbs, flowers and minerals." The Beeswax Lip Balm, according to the saleslady I asked at Beauty Bar where I purchased it, is their original and classic lip balm formula.
