July 01, 2018
The weather has been kind of gloomy these days, but trust one of the happiest and most colorful brands, Benefit Cosmetics, to brighten things up with the launch of their newest product - the Hello Happy Soft Blur Foundation.

If you're happy and you know it...click the link below to find out what got me tickled pink at the event!

Abracada-brow!: Benefit Cosmetics launches its new brow collection (Pt. 2)

May 17, 2016
As promised, here's part two of my Benefit brow collection post! This time, I'm revealing the FULL line up of products that are set to be released in all Benefit boutiques in Southeast Asia this July 1.

There are ten products total that make up the collection and they all aim to give you one thing: amazing, but still natural-looking brows that'll simply make you go 'Wow!'. Benefit emphasizes 'natural' a lot for this particular collection, and that's how brows should look after all.

If you want fuller-looking brows, more defined brows, or to even add highlights to your brows then this amazing collection has got you covered!

Abracada-brow!: Benefit Cosmetics launches its new brow collection (Pt. 1)

May 16, 2016
Whenever I get an invitation to attend a Benefit Cosmetics event, I do a little happy dance in my head. And why not? Every event I've been to has been crazy fun! Like I said before, Benefit is a brand that knows how to celebrate. Now though, there's an added reason to celebrate with their new and complete brow collection that was officially released only a couple of days ago. A bunch of us got a sneak peek at the collection beforehand though during their global media launch at Revel at The Palace on May 2.

Since there's so much to write about and show, this one's going to have to be a two parter! For this post, enjoy my write-up / photo diary of what was in and what went down at the launch...

The theme for the launch was magic, but of course since Benefit loves to party it up, it was magic done Vegas style!

Benefit Cosmetics Moisture Prep Toning Lotion*

January 17, 2016
Instead of boring you with a rambling intro, let's keep a good thing going by reviewing another product from the Benefit skin care line. This time, the spotlight is on their Moisture Prep Toning Lotion.

I know the term "toning lotion" is a bit confusing. Is it a toner or is it a lotion, aka a moisturizer? Well, simply put it is indeed a toner, but one that's more enhanced with a variety of ingredients to give it more oomph than your regular, run of the mill toner. Toning lotions in general don't just remove any dirt or makeup residue left on your skin, they're meant to also revitalize and restore the skin's pH and moisture balance which in turn also preps your skin for the remaining products you'll be applying after.

Benefit says...
The special step for extra radiant skin. Moisture prep toning lotion smoothes & revitalizes allowing skin to fully optimize benefits of your moisturizer. Contains vitamin E acetate, natural oat & meadowsweet, botanical extracts known to purify & smooth the skin and help reduce fine lines. This specialized formula contains a blend of aloe leaf and yeast extract, known to clarify & soothe the skin.

Benefit Cosmetics Instant Comeback Facial Serum*

December 28, 2015
An increasingly 'must have' product in many women's skin care regime is a serum. For those who aren't too familiar, serums are basically potent little potions that address specific skin care needs. There are serums for those who frequently suffer from acne or redness. There are serums that promise to shrink or minimize the appearance of dark spots and pores, and there are serums that are supposed to whiten skin overall. If there's a skin care concern, there's most likely a serum for it. Compared to your average moisturizing cream or gel (which you apply after, by the way), serums tend to have more concentrated ingredients.

Now that I'm nearly 30, I prefer serums that have anti-aging claims. These tend to work best for me as I have dry skin and most anti-aging products are highly moisturizing since young looking skin is all about the abundance of hydration in it. One of my favorite beauty brands, Benefit Cosmetics, knows that very well as their skin care line is all about moisturizing and refining skin. One of the stars of this particular line is their Instant Comeback Facial Serum which I'm reviewing today.

Benefit says...
Hey tired, dehydrated skin…this is your chance to start over!

Instant Comeback Age-Defying Booster Serum instantly boosts the youthful look of skin. The fast absorbing formula with tri-radiance complex helps protect against visible signs of aging. Tired skin looks plumped and hydrated and feels firmer, smoother…energized. Dramatically boosts the effectiveness of any skincare routine.

Meeting the newest curl in town

March 23, 2015
As human beings we naturally respond to different shapes. Did you know that we react positively to or are most attracted to curves or shapes with curves? When brands design logos they have to take such a thing into account. An article called "The psychology of logo shapes: a designer's guide" from creativebloq.com states that "Circles, ovals and ellipses tend to project a positive emotional message...Curves on any sort tend to be viewed as feminine in nature." Well that got me thinking maybe that's why we ladies love seeing curves or sloping shapes even when we do our makeup. We contour, we draw in or emphasize cupid bows and full, curvy lip shapes, soft brow arches are seen as the ideal, and of course, we curl our lashes.

Beautifully curved and luscious lashes can perk up any girl's mood, as well as her eyes. Benefit Cosmetics knows this all too well and came up with their new and much raved about Roller Lash mascara. Of course there had to be a Bene-licious bash to launch it and I was all too excited to attend...

The event was held last month at the Skye Lounge in BGC. So yes, this post is long overdue already! The theme this time was the swinging 60s; an era of fun, girly, and flirty glamour.

Review: Benefit Cosmetics The POREfessional Agent Zero Shine Shine-vanishing PRO Powder

May 31, 2014
A good touch-up powder is always essential in one’s makeup kit. It’ll help battle any shine on your face and keep your makeup looking fresh and like new again. Sometimes I bring two kinds of powder along with me, a medium to full-coverage one which I use only when any makeup starts fading, and a light, usually translucent one just to get rid of inevitable shininess on my face.

With powders to help with shine, I try to look for one that’s again, light and translucent because I don’t want to risk my makeup looking too cakey the more I apply throughout the day and because I only really use it on my t-zone since I like the rest of my face to look dewy. Of course, it needs to be effective too and help keep any oil at bay for at least a few hours or longer. So you can bet I was excited to receive Benefit’s The POREfessional Agent Zero Shine Shine-vanishing PRO Powder during its product launch way back in November because it seemed to tick all the right boxes for me!

Benefit Cosmetics Rockateur

January 22, 2014
What’s one makeup item you can’t leave the house with? I’ll admit, I need a small array of products before I consider myself ready enough to face the outside world, but one of those products I most definitely need is blush. Since I have quite fair skin, it can easily look dull and lifeless once I apply my base makeup. Blush is an instant perk-me-up for my complexion! It gives it that much needed pop of color and just completes my overall look.

I heard about Benefit’s Rockateur (Php1,600.00) late last year, it was released locally in October, and I noticed everyone seemed to be going gaga over it! I’ve always been a fan of Benefit’s boxed blushes and bronzers so I was super excited to try it out for myself. Luckily, I won this very blush from a Benefit event! Score!

Product description:
Pick up the beat with a rush of heat! This rockin’ rose gold cheek powder gives a famously provocative flush that turns heads on-stage and off. The crowd will go wild for its sexy faceted design, accented in luxe gold. For an encore, the custom angled, dimensional brush gives rich, show-stopping payoff every time.

Black and pink is one of my favorite color combinations which made the packaging irresistible to me. Plus I love the printed lace and snake skin detail! The overall look really screams ‘rock chic’.

Review: Benefit Cosmetics chacha go-go Lip/Cheek Stain & Lip Gloss

August 29, 2013
One thing I’m not a fan of when it comes to makeup is retouching. Though it’s necessary a lot of the time, if I can avoid it then all the better. That’s why I always try to find long-lasting products that need minimal or no re-touching throughout the day. Retouching whatever lip product I choose for the day I find the most tedious, especially since it’s generally what fades the fastest on you because of eating, drinking, or even just habitually licking your lips. In the end, it’s why I prefer either matte lipsticks or lip stains/tints. They tend to last the longest and usually need very minimal retouching if at all.

So when I received chacha go-go at a Benefit launch event back in June, I was quite excited since I never actually got to try the original chachatint. This is the exact same tint except it’s now in a much more convenient and travel-friendly dual-applicator that also has lip gloss.
